My review of the Browser's on the Internet.
Google Chrome: Well for a browser that came into the market 3 years ago people seem to be using this browser a lot. Well I found this browser is one of the worst for memory usage that ever came out on the market. It's seems that Google wants to spend most of there money advertising this browser than rather programming it. In the test I used the latest chrome version 16 and running only a average of 12 tabs at various sites. The sites I chosen for this test were the follow. www.hardocp.com , www.cnn.com , www.cbc.ca , www.engadget.com , www.techpowerup.com , www.techreport.com , www.rage3d.com , www.majorgeeks.com , www.deviantart.com , www.google.com , www.wikipedia.org , www.userfriendly.org .
After opening all those web sites in the tabs screenshot shows all 12 running.

Now lets take a hard look at how much memory chrome is using for all those pages.

Now as you can see here chrome for every tab open uses another exe of it self for every page also uses more than it need a grand total of 14 chromes running with a Grand total of memory usage of 596.8 megs of memory to render 12 pages. I have see many times people running 20 tabs and using more than a gig of memory for surfing. Now just to point out a example here the same screen but with my World of Warcraft running which is a very big game.

As you can see World of warcraft consumes less memory then 12 pages of Google chrome. Chrome does have speed yes if you use single pages its ok but still uses 3 chromes for one page. I really hope google will fix this one day and then it would be a great browser but for now I only give it a 5 out 10.
Mozilla Firefox: Ok this browser is from Mozilla the same company that was Netscape long time ago. This browser I use myself for normal daily surfing. I have found many features that Firefox invented that has made the web what it is today. First off Firefox is the invented tabs when it first came out with version 2.0. They even patented it. Since Firefox came out Internet explorer chrome and others have been trying to copy its interface. Using the same web site from the list before I open all these in tabs. www.hardocp.com , www.cnn.com , www.cbc.ca , www.engadget.com , www.techpowerup.com , www.techreport.com , www.rage3d.com , www.majorgeeks.com , www.deviantart.com , www.google.com , www.wikipedia.org , www.userfriendly.org .
After all those opened in Firefox here is the screenshot.

Now a look at how much Firefox uses for memory to render all those pages. Also have to include the plug-in container file.

So with Firefox rendering all those same pages we come to a grand memory total of 346 Megs of memory. About half of what chrome uses for the same pages. Amazing memory management in my opinion also yes Firefox sometimes takes longer to open when you first click on it but pages load almost in the same time as chrome does. I give Firefox a rating of 9 out of 10 for its great memory management.
Internet Explorer: The one that comes with windows and still has most of the market today for the one reason comes with windows and most people know no other. I used to use this back in the day. So lets find out how it does in this test of the same web sites in the list. www.hardocp.com , www.cnn.com , www.cbc.ca , www.engadget.com , www.techpowerup.com , www.techreport.com , www.rage3d.com , www.majorgeeks.com , www.deviantart.com , www.google.com , www.wikipedia.org , www.userfriendly.org .
All the site loaded here is the screenshot.

Now here is the task manager screenshot to show how much memory in use.

As we can see here it uses almost the same as chrome for rendering pages but uses a lot less in the way it does it. Grand total memory usage is 534.3 megs of memory to render it. Internet explorer and chrome are pretty much the same when it comes to tabs. Both did not want to pay firefox for the patent. Internet explorer is still better than chrome any day but still needs improvement. I give it a score of 7 out of 10.
